Calibration

This chapter covers the calibration procedures and software tools you will use to ensure your OT-2 moves around its working area with repeatable accuracy. By mapping the robot's hardware and labware to the deck and gantry-mounted instruments, these procedures help the robot operate with precision during a protocol run.

  • Build and maintain the foundation of your robot's positional accuracy by performing the deck, tip length, and pipette offset calibrations described in the Robot Calibration section.

  • To further improve your robot's understanding of the the physical dimensions and deck locations of protocol labware compared with their software definitions, follow the procedures in the Labware Calibration section.

  • Whenever you need to make fine adjustments along the x-, y-, and z-axes during these alignment procedures, see the Jog Controls section.
